L'Ecurie means 'The Stables'. Although it would have been originally built in the 17th century as a home, with the changing economy in the 19th century it became home to the animals. Now it is in many ways the grandest cottage with its picture perfect elevations with eyebrow roofline, and the grand stone fireplace and chimney breast in the long banqueting lounge. The fireplace was rescued from a local abbey in the last century.
